HELEN GAY CLICK MAXWELL

Helen Gay Click Maxwell, of Johnson City, TX, departed this life peacefully at her home on the morning of April 14, 2025. She was born on October 15, 1926, to Johny C. Click and Edna Dee (Milliorn) Click in the Click Community founded by her family in Llano County.

Helen graduated from Llano High School in 1945 and went on to attend Trinity University in San Antonio, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1949. On June 18, 1949, she united in marriage with Marcus “Wayne” Maxwell, Sr., in Gulfport, Mississippi, during his leave from the Navy. Together, they traveled extensively and enjoyed a fulfilling life while raising their four children: Marcus, Gaylene, Steve, and Michelle.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Wayne, her sister Hazel Kendrick, and her brother John C. Click.

She is survived by her four children: Marcus Maxwell, Jr. and Cathleena, Gaylene Simpson and her husband Joe, Steve Maxwell, and Michelle Blindert and her husband Rick. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren: Logan, Katie, Chase, Colten, Caitlyn, Ameris, and Amber, as well as eleven great-grandchildren: Emilia, Henry, Ramsey, Tijs, Silver, Sterling, Max, Maverick, Harper, Ella, and Jax. Helen is also survived by a multitude of relatives and numerous cherished friends.

Helen Maxwell will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother whose passion for cooking and commitment to family defined her life. Her peaceful demeanor, calming presence, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City, with Pastor Greg Steele officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Helen’s name.
