JACQUELYN WATTS HINTON

JACQUELYN WATTS HINTON

“Jackie” Hinton transitioned from this world on March 25, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was a retired Department of Defense Dependent Schools teacher, married 42 years to Greg Hinton, a retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel. She and Greg raised four children and through their combined professional careers lived overseas, to include Japan, Germany, Colombia, Spain and Panama for 25 years in addition to various places in the United States before settling in Blanco in 2002. She was the Department of Defense Dependent Schools world-wide Teacher of the Year in 1981, an achievement she was extremely proud of. She was a native Texan, born in San Antonio and raised in Houston.

Jackie’s son, Joseph Grant Harrel, transitioned in 2019. Besides her husband Greg, Jackie is survived by her sons James Michael Harrel Jr. and Gregory Howard Hinton Jr. and her daughter Veronica Elizabeth Hinton, in addition to her sister Jerry Sue Martin and her brother Jack Bennet Watts Jr. Jackie was truly a beacon of light and words can’t express how much she will be missed!
