Amanda Ruth Meurer, 41, was tragically taken from us too soon following an unexpected death on Feb. 14, 2025 in Johnson City, Texas. She was born Oct. 9, 1983, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Bonnie Elizabeth Truesdell and James Emil Meurer Jr.

Amanda had a deep love for life and an unwavering kindness that touched everyone she met. She found joy in social environments and never met a stranger. She had a unique sense of humor; her smile was contagious, and her generosity and warmth left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Amanda was a beloved daughter, niece and sister, as well as an amazing mother to her three beautiful children and devoted aunt. She embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. She loved visiting zoos and circuses with her children, nieces and nephews. Amanda’s adventurous spirit was exemplified through her love of skydiving. She also enjoyed dancing to live music and karaoke. Recently, she discovered a passion for gardening with her mother. Holidays were especially meaningful to her as she cherished time spent with family during these special moments. Whether hosting cookouts, fishing, swimming or simply enjoying the outdoors with loved ones, Amanda found happiness in bringing people together.

Amanda’s kindness was boundless—always going out of her way to help others and spread positivity wherever she went. She was loved deeply by family and friends alike and will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

May Amanda’s memory continue to bring comfort to those who loved her so dearly.

Amanda is survived by her mother, Bonnie Elizabeth Truesdell Felps; fathers, James Emil Meurer Jr and Jed Lee Felps; brothers, Jeremy James Meurer and wife Melissa, Paul Charles Meurer and wife Stephanie, and Daniel Johnie Meurer; sisters, Laura Elizabeth Meurer-Ritecz and husband George, and Shannon Lee Meurer; daughter, Tatum Nicole Meurer; sons, Shaun Isack Garner and Thomas Ray Garner; as well as five beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services honoring Amanda’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, Feb. 28, at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship, 321 Old River Crossing, Johnson City, TX 78636. Interment will follow in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held following the services at The Hill Country Cupboard.
