Weldon Hale McCullough

Written by His Wife, Delores McCullough Weldon Hale Mc-Cullough, age 97, passed away February 20, 2025, at Brixton House in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Weldon was born February 6, 1928, in Ballinger, Texas. He graduated from Ballinger High School then went on to work at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, then Wallace Laboratories where he met Delores Canada. They married June 4, 1955.

He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Ballinger, then in San Angelo, then in Plainview, and then in Llano. He went to work for the Federal Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service and worked there for 28 years. He won many blue ribbons for his sculptures carved in alabaster, wood, and bronze.

Weldon served as a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Llano and served as a lay missionary to Japan one summer. He and Delores led a Bible study every Tuesday night at the Llano Jail.

He was a beloved husband and father. Survivors include his wife of almost 70 years, Delores Mc-Cullough, and his children Micala Kohler of Arlington, Texas and Matt Louis Mc-Cullough of Sugar Land, plus four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His gravesite service was held Monday, February 24, 2025,at 2:00 p.m. at Llano Cemetery.
