James was born in Jackson County, Oklahoma, at his grandmother’s house on October 1st, 1932. He completed high school in Oklahoma and went to business school in Oklahoma City. In 1952 he went to work for El Paso Natural Gas in Jal, New Mexico. He married Jodie in June 1956 and raised three beautiful children. James retired from El Paso Natural Gas after 40 years and they settled in Mason Texas, which they were grateful to call home. James was a faithful Christian and a longtime member of the Mason Church of Christ. A dear friend said James was the smartest man he had ever known. His strong character and honesty made him a man to look up to.

A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, January 07, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 08, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Gooch Cemetery.
