Neil’s indomitable spirit led him to a distinguished career of over 20 years in the U.S. Army, ultimately attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. His military service took him to various corners of the globe, including Indo-China and the Korean Conflict, where his bravery shone brightly. After his military tenure, Neil dedicated himself to a career with Beechcraft Aircraft, further enriching his life living in Egypt, Greenland and Europe.

In 1994, Neil, along with his late wife Olga, settled in Blanco, where he found solace and comfort in the serene surroundings. Upon Neil’s passing, he was reunited with his beloved wife Olga and cherished son Ronald Widner, as well as his devoted sisters Connie Curtis, Eleanor Hamilton, Millie King and Blair Widner, who had gone before him.

Although Neil may have departed this world, his memory will endure in the hearts of his many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of dear friends. A man of honor, valor, and integrity, Neil Vanderbeck Widner’s legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Funeral services to pay tribute to Neil’s exemplary life and his dedication to his country shall be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. As we gather to honor his memory, let us reflect on the profound impact he made and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Neil Vanderbeck Widner.
