Suzette Baker spoke with Helen Baldwin and her husband Michael, a retired library director, who leads a poetry class at the Marble Falls Library the last Tuesday of each month. Baker fired Kingsland librarian, spoke at the Highland Lakes Democratic Meeting last Thursday, March 27, at the Marble Falls Senior Center. She revealed the $225,000 settlement she received from Llano County in a wrongful termination lawsuit she filed last year. She was fired for refusing to remove books deemed controversial by the Llano County and library leaders. She has been celebrated by the Texas Library Association and was featured in a documentary titled “The Librarians” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest.
