The Blanco boys basketball team lost to the Holliday Eagles in the area playoff game last Friday, 43-28.
In a game played at Glen Rose High School, the Eagles jumped out to a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Blanco had a good second quarter and closed the gap at the half to 17-12. The Eagles led 28-20 at the end of the third quarter and added 14 points in the fourth quarter to extend their lead in the final quarter.
Justin Karnes and Cody Waltrip led the Panthers with eight points each. Robbie Jimenez scored five, Trey Atchley sank four and Gavin Luker added three points.
Luker made four rebounds and Jimenez and Karnes each had three. Jimenez made five assists to teammates. Luker made three assists. Diego Soto and Karnes each made two steals. Waltrip and Karnes each blocked one shot.
The Panthers finished the season with an 18-12 record. Holliday moves on in the playoffs with a 22-11 record.
