The Texas Hill Country woke up to widespread rainfall this morning, bringing much-needed moisture to the region. Towns such as Llano, Fredericksburg, and Boerne reported light to moderate rain during the early hours, with more showers expected to taper off by midday.
In Llano, light rain has kept the morning cool at 54°F. Residents can expect a few more showers as the day progresses, though skies are forecast to clear slightly, leaving behind mostly cloudy conditions.
Fredericksburg has also experienced light rain, with temperatures currently hovering around 56°F. The town will see scattered morning showers before transitioning to warmer, cloudy conditions later in the day, with a high of 62°F. Boerne residents reported similar conditions.
Despite the wet start to the day, meteorologists warn that this reprieve will be short-lived. Rainfall amounts so far have been light, but with the ground already saturated from previous storms, runoff may still occur in low-lying areas. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution while driving on slick roadways.
Looking ahead, a sharp cold front is forecast to move through the region on Thursday, bringing a dramatic drop in temperatures after today’s warming trend. This sudden shift will follow warmer conditions on Wednesday, with highs in the mid-70s.
While today’s rainfall provides temporary relief for the area, especially in drought-prone zones, it’s a reminder of the Hill Country’s unpredictable winter weather patterns. Stay tuned for updates as conditions evolve throughout the week.
