TxDOT seeks input on the US 281 Blanco Relief Route Study

  • Source: TXDOT

TxDOT will host an in-person community workshop with a virtual option for the US 281 Blanco Relief Route Study.

TxDOT will share feedback from the previous community workshop held in March 2024, and present two refined relief route options, as well as the no-build (do nothing) option for further community feedback. No formal presentation is planned, and community members are invited to come and go at their convenience.

The purpose of the US 281 Blanco Relief Route Study, in collaboration with local stakeholders and the public, is to develop a relief route alignment around the city of Blanco that meets TxDOT’s mission and reflects community values.

The in-person community workshop will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Blanco High School, 1215 4th Street, Blanco, TX 78606.

A virtual option will be available by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025. To view the materials, go to TxDOT.gov and search “US 281 Blanco Relief Route.” In-person and virtual attendees will be able to view the same information and leave comments. The information presented will remain available for viewing throughout the study.

Comments may be submitted using the following methods:

  • In-person: at the community workshop via a comment form or court reporter
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Mail: Hilina Shibeshi, US 281 Blanco Relief Route, 1949 S. I-35 Frontage Road, Suite 105, Austin, TX 78741
  • Verbal comment by voicemail: 512-298-3918

TxDOT will continue to collect feedback throughout the process. All comments received on or before Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, will be included as part of the community workshop summary and be available at www.txdot.gov once they have been prepared.
