Blanco County Association of Retired Educators (BCARE) recently purchased books for each Pre-K student at Blanco, Johnson City and Wimberley elementary schools.
Sharon Cox and Tammy San Miguel, longtime teachers, presented books to Sarah Cox and Juliette Diehl, the new Pre-K/ECSE teachers for Blanco Elementary School. BCARE members hope the books will ensure the youngest learners a lifelong love of learning!
BCARE was created as an organization to offer support to those who retired from any public educational institution that pays into the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. While the core of the membership was formed in Blanco, members also come from Johnson City, Driftwood, Dripping Springs and Wimberley. BCARE is supportive of teachers working at Blanco, Johnson City and Wimberley ISDs and membership is open to anyone who supports public education.
BCARE is a local unit of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, which has 240 chapters across the state of Texas. These chapters are the backbone of the organization to those who have worked in this most humble profession.
Meetings are four times a year, which offers a great opportunity to get to know other retired teachers and serve a purpose. New members are always welcome.
