Panther JV team wins, middle school teams fall

The Blanco junior varsity football team beat the Thrall Tigers 28-8 Thursday, Oct. 17. In the first quarter, Caden Spivey ran for a touchdown and passed to Rhyder Nelson for the successful two-point conversion. The score at halftime was tied 8-8. In the third quarter, Blanco scored a safety and added another touchdown on a pass from Spivey to Caden Wood. The Panthers led 16-8 at the end of the third. In the final quarter, Blanco scored on a run by Spivey and a run by Noah Hernandez. The Blanco junior varsity team is 8-0 on the season.

The Blanco Middle School eighth grade team lost a close game in the final minutes to Randolph, 21-20, last Thursday. Scout Jones scored two rushing touchdowns and Joseph Hoyt scored one touchdown and a two-point conversion. The BMS eighth grade team is 2-4 on the season The Blanco Middle School seventh grade team fell to Randolph 32-16 last week. Carter Cress threw a touchdown pass to Gavin Rangel and a two-point conversion pass to Ryan Ortiz. John Salazar scored a rushing touchdown. Cress connected with Rangel for the two-point conversion. The BMS seventh grade team is 4-2 overall.
