The annual Shannon Kaspar 5K and Fun Run was October 12th at the First Baptist Church Activity Center. The Fun Run started at 8:00 am followed by the 5k race. Between both runs, there were close to 100 participants.

In the 5k, the top three males were Garrett Lindsey, Caden Klingelhefer, and Angel Quintero from Mason. The top three females were, Elizabeth McFarland from Mason, Emma McDonald from Kingsland and Hannah McFarland from Mason.

The benefit raised $3,500, and all Llano ISD schools will receive $500 to go towards their individual campuses’ needs. “Llano Elementary uses the funds for additional school supplies, Packsaddle uses the money for clothing items and shoes, the Junior High counselor uses it for individual student needs and the High School puts it toward hygiene items,” said benefit organizer Carrie Plumley. “Shannon Kaspar passed away in 2008, the run is in honor of her and her love for teaching, children, and fitness.”

Plumley and her hard working crew thank all the participants and sponsors who came out to support this event, which will be held again next October.
